One person died in a car wreck just south of Shallowater.
This morning’s accident happened around 8 a.m. at FM 2641 and FM 179.
DPS troopers say a truck ran a stop sign and striking an SUV causing a rollover.
The driver of the SUV, 58-year-old Jamie Lee Nesmith, was pronounced dead at the scene.
James Nesmith, 15, was taken to UMC and is in critical condition.
The driver of the truck, 55-year-old Jackie Marley of Smyer, was not injured and said he did not see the stop sign because of the sun.
This is the seventh traffic death along FM 2641 in less than two weeks.
