Tyler Chapman calls Lubbock home, despite the lack of mountains and hiking trails.

“I have been camping since I was about 5-years-old and I have been backpacking since I was 12,” Tyler Chapman, a self-described outdoor enthusiast, said.

Instead of moving to the mountains, Chapman said he has stayed in Lubbock because it is centrally located. He said the Hub City is a short drive to several of his favorite adventuring spots.

“Northern New Mexico, Carson National Forest has some of the best hiking I have ever seen,” Chapman said.

He said his favorite place he’s been to so far is the Grand Canyon.

“I was lucky enough to take a trip with my dad and husband. It was by far a trip of a lifetime,” Chapman said.
