Several restaurants in Lubbock have shut their doors, while other large corporate and family owned eateries have made their way into town.

“Were really lucky because Lubbock is one of if not number one of the most competitiveness in the country for restaurants,” Jessie Jenkins, the General Manager of Campisi’s said.

Campisi’s opened it’s doors in late 2016 and Jenkins said the only time they’ve worried so far was during spring break.

“I hear it’s like a light switch when fall comes around the floods come running in. It was a little nerve racking because it slows down during spring break and my mind was like summer is going to be spring break multiply that by 3 months because that’s what it’s going to be like,” Jenkins said.

The popularity of online ordering and at home deliveries is something Jenkins said is important for restaurants to consider for the future.

“You can see the difference by getting in line with technology, that’s what it is today. That’s how you reach out to the millennials that don’t want to pickup the phone and call they just want to pick up their phone and order what they want to order and have it delivered,” Jenkins said.
