In the wake of Monday night’s shooting on the Texas Tech campus, a number of agencies, communities and other universities have taken to social media to express their condolences and their support for Texas Tech. 

Govenor Abbott said, “First and foremost, our hearts go out to the family of the police officer killed at Texas Tech University. I have spoken to Chancellor Robert Duncan to offer my condolences, and I have mobilized the Texas Department of Public Safety to offer any assistance to the Lubbock Police Departmen. As the Texas Tech campus deals with this heartbreaking tragedy, Cecilia and I pray for the continued safety of the students and the entire community.”

Senator Ted Cruz took to Twitter, writing, “Heidi and I are praying for all those on Texas Tech’s campus this evening. Please be safe and heed warnings from campus officials.”

State Representative from District 83, Dustin Burrows, said “Heartbroken for the family of the fallen officer. Proud of our law enforcement for arresting the suspect so quickly.”

Universities across the country also took to social media to offer thier support and prayers as well. Oklahoma State University, Iowa State University, The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston reached out to offer their condolences. 

The Texas Tech Community was shaken by this tragedy, but the country is rallying behind them to make sure they know they’re not alone.
