With Spring Break in full swing, you may be trying to find fun things to do for your kids. If you decide to drop them off at the mall, whether it is to shop with their friends, catch a movie, or grab a bite to eat, mall officials say they just want your kids to have a good time, but also be safe.

“Spring Break is a little heavier traffic than usual, just because people of all ages are on Spring Break,” said Beth Bridges with the South Plains Mall.

Bridges says they welcome all kids of different ages to come and spend time at the mall this break, but they do have expectations when it comes to behavior.

“Just like there is anywhere else. Whether it’s a football game or church, or school or even at the mall. We just ask that they remember that behavior expectation, so for the enjoyment of all of our guests, that they’re on their best behavior,” said Bridges.

Although there are no set policies on dropping off your kids at the mall, Bridges reminds parents to use their best judgment.

“We would definitely request that they keep their phones handy with their kids, when their kids are ready to leave to be ready to pick them up, so we don’t have large groups hanging out at any entrance in particular,” said Bridges.

She also says the entrance near Barnes & Noble becomes the most congested when the mall is busy. So, you have to be careful when dropping off or picking up kids in that area.

“It’s finally spring, I think everybody’s happy that it’s finally here, so it’s a good place to come and hang out for sure,” said Bridges.

As a reminder, the mall also has a Code of Conduct sign up that has the following regulations:
