The South Plains Food Bank just finished up its Summer of Sharing food drive. The food bank hosted a celebration at Food King on 82nd Street and Slide Road, complete with watermelons, bouncy houses and music.

“We just want to say thank you to the community who really helped us reach our goals,” said Macy Lopes, marketing and communications director of South Plains Food Bank.

The final numbers haven’t been counted yet, but Lopes says she thinks that it definitely reached their goal.

“I know we did well this year. There was so much outreach and so many people stepped up to help out,” said Lopez.

Despite the event being over, if you still want to get involved, you can volunteer with their year-long food drive Feed our Kids, or Feed our Future. For more information, you can check out their website at https://www.spfb.org/.
