The second home football game for Texas Tech is against University of Houston and it has fans and students excited. But with the game having a late afternoon kickoff time, that means for more tailgating before the game.
“The Texas Tech Police Department is great to work with and they do a good job of monitoring those tailgating. They use good judgment by just assessing situations and giving advice to students,” Robert Giovannetti, the Senior Athletics Director for Tech said.
Giovannetti said they know students will be out having a good time but they ask them to drink responsibly and be smart about how much they are consuming.
“Be responsible. We want them to have a good time but need to be responsible,” Giovannetti said.
Tech has a student code of conduct that students need to follow all year round. So if they have a run in with the law, including getting in trouble for drinking at football games, they with have to address that with the University.
