LUBBOCK, Texas — A Texas Tech Athletic program is yet again in the post season as the baseball team once again makes its push for Omaha.
Texas Tech baseball is the only team in the nation to host a regional for the fourth year in a row, and all eyes will be on the Red Raiders as they hope to secure a spot in Omaha again.
Robert Giovannetti, Senior Associate Athletic Director, said there has been a change of culture at Texas Tech, where championships are expected.
“Winning begets winning,” Giovannetti said. “There’s a competition between our coaches about who’s getting the next Big 12 championship, who’s getting the next national championship.”
Giovannetti said alongside the teams themselves, it takes many others to prepare for hosting postseason play.
“Facilities to operations, to managing the game, to managing the teams coming in, umpires, crews coming in we have ticket sales, all the media components as well,” Giovannetti said.
Tickets for the NCAA Regional go on sale Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and you can purchase them at TexasTech.com
