Six veterans, all alumni from Texas Tech University, were honored by the Military and Veterans program. The organization presented the “Wall Of Honor” to the families of the heroes.
“Having students see the price of freedom these heroes had to pay and those serving now, so they can attend Texas Tech and live in a free nation,” Lou Ortiz, the Director of Military and Veterans Program at Tech said.
Ortiz said they hope students walking through the hall will stop and look at the veterans who fought for their freedom. Audrey Morin agreed with Ortiz. Her son Staff Sgt. Steve Morin Jr. is on the wall.
“We should not ever forget what they did for our country. Its very special and I really hope that people don’t forget,” Morin said.
Joshua Fuller and his coworker Nathan created the wall. He said this was the most important project they’ve worked on so far in their careers and it hit close to home because they’re both veterans as well.
“I cant explain those types of feelings. Its a honor to do this for the families,” Fuller said.
