Since breaking ground in April 2017, the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences is well on its way under construction.

“We’ve made tremendous progress. We’re standing in the main lobby of the Buddy Holly Hall — how cool is that?” Tim Collins, board chairman of the Lubbock Entertainment and Performing Arts Association, said.

Collins said they have anywhere between 50-100 workers on site each day, but it is not quite enough.

“We are having some manpower issues. It’s hard to find enough labor in Lubbock,” Collins said.

Even with a shortage of labor, Collins said they still plan on having everything finished by the first quarter of 2020.
