Lubbock Police reported one woman dead and a man in the hospital following a motorcycle crash in the 2200 block of 50th Street at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

“It was crazy, it was chaos,” Esteban Garcia said. He told EverythingLubbock.com he heard the crash and rushed to the scene to help.

“He was speeding pretty bad,” Garcia said. “I turn around and look and I thought he clipped a truck. So I ran over there and I see where I guess he was trying to get a hold of his bike and he lost control of his bike. So I thought he clipped a truck. I didn’t know he had hit somebody.”

Lubbock Police arrived on scene and found a person lying in the middle of the road. New information stated the victim’s name is Quicha Rotay Cook, 33.

“It was such in the heat of the moment that I didn’t even notice that she was bleeding,” Garcia said. “So I actually shook her like, ‘Wake up, wake up, wake up,’ and my wife came over with a blanket and we covered her up. She was gone.”
