Court records on Wednesday said Jessica Holl, 28, accepted a plea agreement for her involvement with distributing and possessing Fentanyl.
Holl, along with Sidney Caleb Lanier, 36, and Marie Robertson, 32, were arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in October 2016, court records said. The three Lubbock residents knowingly manufactured and distributed Fentanyl from January 2013 until their arrest in October.
According to court records, DEA agents intercepted a package from China addressed to Roberts in 2015. When questioned by the agents, Holl admitted to being responsible for that package. After further investigation, law enforcement determined that Holl was responsible for 1,500 grams of Fentanyl. She admitted that she knew it was against the law and she knew Fentanyl can be deadly.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine but is 50 times more potent.
When federal agents and Lubbock Police busted the three, it made national news. One location inside Lubbock and one location just outside the city were treated as hazardous material sites until the Fentanyl could be removed.
Holl’s plea agreement has not yet been approved by a judge or a magistrate. She will be sentenced at a later date to no more than 20 years in prison. Lanier and Robertson have also taken plea deals. They too will be sentenced at a later date.
