Levelland ISD Employee Under Investigation, According to Statement

On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, Levelland ISD was made aware of an allegation of possible inappropriate electronic communication between one of its teacher/coaches and a Levelland ISD student. 

The District immediately placed the employee on paid administrative leave while it conducted an investigation regarding the allegations. On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, the employee resigned his employment with the District. The District promptly reported circumstances of the employee’s resignation to local and state law enforcement, as well as the State Board for Educator Certification.


The District will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and educator licensing agencies in any on-going or future investigations.

Student safety and welfare are of paramount importance to the District, and all required actions and notifications concerning this matter have been completed by the District.  Due to state and federal privacy laws, however, there will be no further information regarding this matter released by the District.

NOTE: Early Thursday evening, Levelland ISD issued a statement in reference to the information in school system’s news release.  It reads as follows:

The Levelland Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation on conduct and communication between a Levelland High School Teacher and students. No arrests have been made at this time and no names are being released due to the ongoing investigation.
