Multiple units with the Lubbock Fire Department battled a structure fire early Sunday evening just off the Marsha Sharp Freeway and 29th Street in Central Lubbock.
The fire occurred at the former Putt-Putt Golf & Games, located at 5110 29th Street.
Lubbock Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Holland tells EverythingLubbock.com units were dispatched to the scene at 6:21 p.m.
Holland said the fire began on the northeast side of a building. Only a few portions of the exterior walls remain standing at the structure. The fire was contained to the one building.
The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office has been called the scene and is currently trying to determine the cause of the fire, Holland said.
Putt-Putt Golf & Games has been closed for years.
The Lubbock Fire Department believes no one was inside the building at the time of the fire. However, crews are currently searching the interior of the structure that was damaged.
Holland said the fire was out by 7:30 p.m.
