LFR Battles House Fire in Central Lubbock

Firefighters combated a fire near an alley between 22nd and 21st Streets in the area of Avenue S on Tuesday night. The call came in just before 10:00 p.m. of a fire at the 1900 block of 21st Street.

Lubbock Fire Rescue, Lubbock Police, and EMS all responded to the scene. 


LFR and neighbors said the occupants were not home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Neighbors told EverythingLubbock.com that the tenants had recently moved in, and occupied a smaller home in the back of the property.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause of the fire.

On Wednesday, LFR released the following statement: 

At approximately 9:56 p.m. last nite, E1, E8, E6, T1, 810, & 820 were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1908 22nd Street. Crews arrived on scene to find a fence fire and a small residential structure fire that was fully involved. LPD was asked to respond for traffic control at 22nd & Ave. S. Crew arrived on scene and advised address was 1907 21st Street. Fire was under control in approximately 5 minutes and structure was deemed a total loss. No injuried were reported and at this time residents have not been located.
