Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the Texas Tech chemistry building Thursday afternoon for the report of a small chemical explosion.
The response included LFR’s hazmat team. At least one person was exposed to a chemical.
At first Texas Tech said exact details could not be confirmed yet, but one person did experience minor injuries and the incident was confined to one room.
Later, Texas Tech (@TexasTech) said on Twitter, “Update: a minor explosion occurred in the Chemistry Building around 3:35p. 1 individual has minor injuries, no other damage occurred.”
