Lubbock Fire Rescue said the Lubbock Medical Examiners office identified Andrew Vincent Stover, 44, as the victim of Monday afternoon’s deadly fire. LFR has determined the cause of the fire as arson.
LFR continues investigating as they have not ruled a cause or manner of death yet. They said the home was secure at the the time of the fire and there were no signs of forced entry.
The fire sparked on Monday afternoon at 8806 9th street killing one person,Stover, and two dogs.
On Sunday, the day before the fatal fire, Stover reported to the Lubbock Police Department that an unknown suspect vandalized his car, at the same address where the fire happened. According to a Lubbock Police report property damage was valued at $2,000 for the vehicle paint damaged. The report states that the suspect was not located.
LFR released the following written statement:
Update on the fire at 8806-9th; The Medical Examiners office has confirmed the identity of the victim as 44 year old Andrew Vincent Stover. No cause or manner of death is available at this time. The cause of this fire is determined as incendiary (Arson). The residence was secure at the time of the fire with no signs of forced entry.
