Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 2600 block of 54th Street before 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Smoke could be seen rising from the house and the occupants evacuated the house.
No one was injured. There was a dog was reported inside the house and LFR later said the dog made it out okay. LFR said a family of five people was displaced.
The fire caused a little bit of a traffic tie up along University Avenue. LFR promised to provide more information later.
