At 8:11 p.m. last evening, E9, E6, E7, T7, 820 & 810 responded to a reported structure fire at 4622 31st. E9 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing with fire exiting an east window. They made contact with the occupants (1 adult and 2 children) and confirmed everyone was out of the structure.
Crews made an interior attack through the front door and found heavy fire in the hallway and back bedroom. They quickly extinguished the fire and searched for extension into the attic. The fire damage was contained to the bedroom and hallway but the entire structure suffered heavy smoke damage. A total of three adults and two children were displaced.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a broken lamp that fell between a dresser and the wall and ignited combustibles. Units cleared the scene at 10:37 p.m.
