40 homes were damaged and 3 people injured after a tornado hit Lindale on Friday. There are no reported deaths, however the destruction is devastating.
Tiffany Reeve huddled in the hallway of her home with her husband and two children when the tornado sirens started sounding on Friday.
“How am i going to be able to hold both of my babies, and hold up a wall to save them with my body?” She says that is what went through her mind when her home was picked up in the air by the tornado and dropped back on the ground 12 feet over.
She and her husband, and 6 month and 2 year old children were unharmed.
“The only part of my house that is still untouched is the hallway because I’m telling you we were surrounded by the Lord,” she says.
Her house sits along FM 16 West, one of the areas east of Lindale to get hit the hardest.
The storm uprooted hundred-year-old trees, pushing them into homes.
“Basically limbs came through the roof and into the living room so we have pretty major damage inside there,” says Terry.
Neighbors came together to help start the rebuilding process; a community uniting in a time of devastation.
“It’s going to get some time to put everything back together, but it’s not terrible,” says Terry.
“These things can be rebuilt, family cannot, loss of your loved ones cannot,” says Reeve. “So we’re thankful that we have the ability to rebuild and be okay.”
