Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue said a 15-month-old boy nearly drowned Thursday morning. Police received the report of a “possible drowning” in the 2800 block of Wildwood Circle.
“[The] investigation revealed that while an adult family member was in the backyard doing landscape work, a 15-month-old male went into a small pond and sustained an unknown amount of water in its lungs.”
Police said the child was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock as a precaution.
“The infant is expected to be fine,” police said.
