Currently: Texas Tech is tied with TCU in the eighth inning, 2-2.
Recap:
In the top of the first, Tech freshman left hander Steven Gingery sat down the Horned Frogs in order, 1-2-3. Tech heads to the plate.
Then in the second, with Orlando Garcia at third, Raley would strike out looking to end the inning, stranding Garcia ninety feet away.
In the bottom of the third, Texas Tech got on the board. With Tech sophomore center fielder Tanner Gardner on first, Cory Raley hit one into the left field corner to score Gardner. The Red Raiders lead 1-0.
Then in the top of the fourth, TCU answered. Merrill looped one into shallow left field and Barzilli was able tag up from third to make it home. Texas Tech and TCU tied 1-1.
Fast forward to the fifth inning, Gingery was back on the mound, and gave up a homer to TCU’s Cam Warner as the Frogs claimed a 2-1 lead.
Then in the home half of the frame, the Red Raiders answered! Gardner laced one down the right field line, just inside the first base bag and Floyd came in to knot the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning.
