Texas fireworks sales began today and will continue through 4th of July.
On 84th Street, firework stands set up in an area that is considered outside of Lubbock county lines.
Lubbock police emphasized that firework distribution and the use of fireworks is illegal within city limits.
One stand in particular, TNT Fireworks, celebrated their eighteenth year in the business. Owner Jinx White, said the holiday is his favorite one, and that he and the family stay in their camper throughout the days they sell.
“When we celebrate the freedoms, and the privileges we have as Americans, that no other country in the world has, and to celebrate that, and fireworks have always been a part of the celebration,” said White.
The stand is open seven days a week, from 10 AM-10 PM, and until midnight on the fourth, which White says is their busiest day.
