Multiple shell cases littered 37th Street between Avenue U and Avenue T while police investigated a report of shots fired Tuesday evening.
The following is a statement from the Lubbock Police Department:
At approximately 5:40 p.m., an ambulance was flagged down in the area of 34th Street and Avenue W for a female victim who appeared to have a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
It appears the shooting occurred on 37th Street and Avenue U. Officers are currently on scene working to gather evidence and more information about possible suspects.
