The beach comes to the Hub City on August 5 at the Depot Patio. The 12th Annual Hub City Beach party is an event held to raise money for local nonprofit, Foster A Life.

Foster A Life is dedicated to helping children in foster care or involved with CPS on the South Plains. This organization helps these children reach their dreams and give them opportunities to help them feel important and improve their self-esteem. Foster A Life helps raise funds to provide things for these children that will enhance their lives and provide otherwise unavailable assistance.

The Hub City Beach Party is Foster A Life’s only fundraiser for its organization. For the 12th year, the Jimmy Buffet tribute band, The Landsharks are returning to the Hub City for this event. Tickets are $20 and available through Select-A-Seat, or $25 at the door. Founder of Foster A Life, Shaun Keel, said this event is vital to their organization.

It just provides the money that we need for these kids so they can take dance lessons if the want, or go to a camp,” Keel said. “We are limitless on what we can do for these kids. It’s just those extra things we can do for these kids and it helps their self-esteem.”
