Academy Sports + Outdoors, former Texas Tech defensive tackle Ecomet Burley and the Texas Bowl Gridiron Legends program teamed up to present two Lubbock ISD physical education teachers with a shopping spree Saturday morning.
Cynthia Shropshire of Harwell Elementary and Coyt Hagelstein of Stewart Elementary were both given a $500 gift card to shop for new PE equipment for the upcoming school year.
Both Shropshire and Hagelstein were honored for making a significant contribution to the game of football in Texas.
The surprise presentation of the gift cards and their shopping spree took place at the Academy Sports + Outdoors location near 114th Street and Quaker Avenue.
