UPDATE: An all-clear was given shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday. Once the bomb squad and police are out of the building, they will allow kids to go back in and resume class Thursday.
For the second time in two days, the Levelland Police Department responded Thursday morning to a bomb threat at the Levelland ISD.
On Wednesday there was a reported threat at the Levelland Intermediate school. According to levellandnews.net, “this time at the Levelland Middle School”
At about 11:45 a.m., Levelland Police told EverythingLubbock.com that officers were “working to get more information.”
A parent confirmed that parents received an automated call informing them of an evacuation.
“Students and staff are being evacuated from the middle school to the Levelland ABC school,” levellandnews.net said.
No bomb was found in the Wednesday incident. As for this newest situation, EverythingLubbock.com will continue to provide updates as possible.
The City of Levelland released the following message shortly after noon:
Directly from the Mobile Operations Vehicle. Emergency Responders are on scene at Levelland Middle School of another threat. All students, faculty, and staff are evacuated and are safe.
Levelland ISD is not dismissing students. However, anyone who is picking up there child should proceed to Levelland ABC via County Road to East Ellis, then to the campus via East Ellis. Personnel are assisting at the scene and we again remind parents the students are safe. They are not dismissing students at this time.
The Lubbock bomb squad is in route to assist.
