The Seagraves Police Department is investigating an assault that injured three people at a community gathering Saturday evening.
According to a post on the Seagraves Police Department Facebook page, authorities were dispatched just after 9:00 p.m. to the gathering where an assault with a knife had been reported.
SPD officers were able to arrive on scene quickly, locate the injured and obtain information on the other parties involved.
With the assistance of the Gaines County Sheriff’s Office, those who fled the scene were located and interviewed about the incident.
Police said one person was transported to a Lubbock hospital with critical injuries.
A second person was transported to a local hospital but was later taken to a Lubbock hospital with severe injuries.
A third person suffered minor injuries and declined treatment or transport.
The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending at this time.
