5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Pups on Sunday, April 14

The following is a news release from the Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department:

Bring your dogs to an Easter egg hunt just for them!  Maxey Community Centers is hosting their 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Pups on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. This event is a perfect way to celebrate Easter with your furry friends. We’ve changed locations this year, and it will be held in the park by Maxey Community Center. Participants will enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny, pet vendors, and at 2:00 p.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt for your dogs. Bring your pup dressed up in their Easter best, and you could win a prize basket for the Best Dressed Dog.

Dogs must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination and have with them a 2019 rabies tag or certificate from a veterinarian. Dogs must be on leash, and aggressive dogs or dogs in heat are not allowed.

City of Lubbock Animal Services will be hosting a booth at this event and will be providing free microchips for dogs for Lubbock residents. Microchips are the best way to ensure that a lost pet is reunited with its owners.

For more information, call Maxey Community Center at (806) 767-3796 or visit the center at 4020 30th Street. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.; 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Fridays 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.; and 1:00 – 5:30 p.m., as well as Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
