Lubbock’s 6th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade will be held on Saturday, May 5.
This year’s theme is Our History is Important – Celebrate Your History!”
The parade will be begin at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Broadway. The parade will then continue eastward on Broadway to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day. It commemorates the Mexican army’s triumph over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
Mexico’s Independence Day is celebrated on September 16.
