The following is a news release from AgTexas Farm Credit Services:

Lubbock-based AgTexas Farm Credit Services celebrates its new corporate headquarters and branch office at 5004 N. Loop 289 this Tuesday, February 19, with a 3:30 p.m. Lubbock Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony.

According to AgTexas CEO Tim McDonald, “We are celebrating AgTexas’ success in financing operations as well as providing loans for both producing Ag and recreational Ag properties. We are fond of saying – Built by Ag. Built for Ag.” He adds, “We are dedicated to the prosperity of agriculture and rural America.”

Special guests will include U.S Congressman Jodey Arrington, who will deliver brief remarks about the role agriculture plays in the United States and across the globe.

AgTexas Farm Credit serves over 3,600 members in 43 counties across Texas, and the new energy-efficient corporate headquarters and branch office, with over 21,000 square feet, reflects the company’s core audience of farmers and ranchers. The interior decor features a variety of farm and ranch equipment throughout the building and wall coverings include photos of AgTexas members’ farms and ranches.

As a member of the Farm Credit System, AgTexas’ roots extend back to 1934, with services including loan programs, working capital, insurance and leasing. AgTexas is a member-owned cooperative, so its customers are owners, and these member-owners each receive a share in the organization’s profitable operations through its patronage program. AgTexas Farm Credit is currently sending $13.4 million in patronage payments to its members.

AgTexas is also known for its AgYouth Scholarship Program, which has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors involved in either 4-H or FFA as they pursue their college education. The 2018-19 AgYouth Scholarship Program will award an additional $21,000 in scholarships in early May with the South Plains regional banquet occurring at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture.
