ALLIANCE Credit Union’s annual scholarship fund has awarded four students a $2,500 scholarship. The monies were raised by members and employees of the credit union through various campaigns and activities. This is the first time in ALLIANCE history that scholarship funds are coming directly from the members of the credit union and at this amount.

“The credit union philosophy is ‘People Helping People’”, said Scott Rose, CEO and President of ALLIANCE Credit Union. “This scholarship opportunity is a great way to help our student members continue through education endeavors.”

Applications for the scholarship were open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students and a total of 27 applications were received this year. Applicants were required to be a member of the credit union in good standing and go through an extensive application process with a required essay and letter of recommendation.

This year’s recipients are: Darbey Havens, a graduate from Abernathy High School; Adele Caminade, a graduate of Lubbock Cooper High School; Amber Allen, a UT Southwestern Medical School student; and Brenda Guardiola, a Texas Tech University student.

A reception will be held on June 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at ALLIANCE Credit Union’s Main Branch 8401 Quaker Ave honoring the recipients and their guests.
