This year marks 36 years that the American Cancer Society’s Lubbock Cattle Baron’s Ball will raise money for cancer research and services for cancer patients. This year’s event is scheduled for July 28th at the V-8 Ranch. Pre-party events begin at 5 p.m. at City Bank, 5219 City Bank Parkway. Transportation will be provided from City Bank to the V-8 Ranch beginning at 5:30 p.m. for those with Baron’s tickets, 6:30 p.m. for those with Wrangler’s tickets.
The event will feature ever popular entertainment Robert Earl Keen as well as crowd favorite Emerald City Dance Band. Keen, who was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012 has been entertaining crowds for over three decades, has more than 18 records and has performed thousands of shows, working with multiple music legends including Dave Matthews, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and others.
Cattle Baron’s Ball offers something for everyone; enjoy a variety of food from several food stations including Evie Mae’s and both a cocktail and shot bar tent, a commemorative photo and more. Live and silent auctions complete the evening’s fund-raising efforts and offer one-of-a-kinds items including a trip to Iceland, a West Texas Safari, a Costa Rica trip, a Taylor Swift concert package as well as several other great items.
More than seven million has been raised by Cattle Baron’s Ball events in Lubbock. This year’s event will raise funds for Hope Lodge which has provided more than 51,000 free nights of lodging for patients. Tickets range from $275 to $1100, limited quantities are now available at LubbockCattleBaronsBall.org, or by calling 806.792.7128.
Signs of Hope
Signs of Hope will line the entrance to the V-8 Ranch the night of the Cattle Baron’s Ball. Signs may be purchased for $25 each, choices include “In Memory,” “In Honor” or “Proud Supporter” and can be purchased by going to LubbockCattleBaronsBall.org, deadline to purchase is July 19th. Signs of Hope are a special way for anyone to honor a loved one and their battle with cancer. All signs will be available to take home by the purchaser immediately following the event.
Truck Raffle
Reagor Dykes Auto Group generously donated the use of a 2018 Ford F-150 Platinum to one lucky winner for a period of 36 months from the date of the drawing. Tax, title and license will be provided by Reagor Dykes Auto Group, winner only provides insurance for the truck. Chance drawing tickets are on sale for $50 each. You need not be present to win.
