LUBBOCK, Texas – The following is a news release from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce:
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Amy Marquez to Vice President of Programs, Services and Events.
As the Vice President of Programs, Services and Events Marquez will promote and serve the business community by providing opportunities to encourage relationship building through Chamber programs and network development.
Marquez will oversee the Small Business Roundtables, as well as plan, coordinate and oversee all of the Chamber’s luncheons and events including the Golf Tournament, Hub City BBQ and the Lubbock Uncorked Wine event.
“Over the past 11 years Amy has worn multiple hats here at the Lubbock Chamber and we believe that with her past experience and her vast amount of Chamber knowledge she is a perfect fit for this position,” said Eddie McBride, Lubbock Chamber President and CEO. “We are lucky to have her leading the events division.”
During her time at the Chamber, Marquez has worked with numerous volunteers as the previous staff liaison for the Young Professionals of Lubbock, Leadership Lubbock, Lubbock Chamber Young Entrepreneurs Academy and the Chamber’s Total Resource Campaign.
In 2015, Marquez received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) professional designation, and has served as an Institute Class Advisor. She also completed a three-year professional education program through the Texas Chamber of Commerce that provides solid instruction in fundamentals and advanced topics in chamber management.
Marquez serves on the Department of Public Health Advisory Board (DPHCAB), Frenship District Education Improvement Committee, Lubbock Area United Way Stewardship Review Committee and will serve as Loaned Executive for the 2019-2020 campaign. She is also an alumnus of Leadership Lubbock.
