Arrest made in July 2 stabbing, victim found at McDonald’s

The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:

Augustine Garcia Jr., 27, is now in custody charged with aggravated assault in connection to the July 2nd stabbing of a 25-year-old male in the 2300 block of Auburn Street.


Through the investigation, LPD detectives identified Garcia as a suspect in the stabbing and an arrest warrant was secured late Tuesday afternoon. By 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, investigators located Garcia and arrested him without incident in the 2300 block of Auburn.

Investigators with the Texas Anti-Gang Center (TAG) Lubbock assisted with the arrest of Garcia.

This case remains under investigation by the LPD Persons Crimes Unit.
