Miguel Castillo, 40, accepted a plea deal on Monday for attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.

If the deal is accepted by a federal judge or magistrate, then Castillo will be sentenced at a later date to no more than 10 years in prison.

Court records said on December 21, a Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office deputy was acting undercover on the internet.  The officer was posing on Instagram as a 14-year-old girl.

“Castillo often brought up the topic of sexual intercourse,” court records said.  “Castillo also requested that the UC [undercover officer] send a photograph of her breasts and vagina.”

He also sent three pictures of himself exposed.

Castillo made arrangements for a meeting on December 31, but instead of finding an underage girl, he was arrested.

“At the time of his arrest, Castillo had a teddy bear, panties, a rose and condoms,” court records said.

Castillo admitted that he would have had sex with a 14-year-old “if she had wanted to…”

State prosecutors also filed a criminal charge against Castillo for online solicitation of a minor, which as of Monday was still pending.  Jail records indicated that Castillo was homeless and from San Angelo.
