District 19 Congressman Jodey Arrington will present a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to Adam Disque, a veteran from Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, during Saturday afternoon’s Texas Tech basketball game.

According to a news release from the congressman’s office, Disque was a part of a high performing team that had several opportunities to deploy alongside the B1-B bombers to Southeast Asia. He was given the opportunity to deploy to Al Udeid, Qatar as a Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician,  where he helped record occupational and environmental data to ensure Air Force war fighters have documentation of exposure to hazards they have come in contact with while they completed our nations call.

After completing his enlistment, Adam chose to attend Texas Tech University due to their competitive engineering college and their veteran friendly staff in the MVP office. As an Environmental Engineering student, he is currently a part of the 5 year masters of engineering program, the news release also stated.

He is actively involved in Student Veterans’ of America (the largest veteran organization that focuses on student veteran integration into higher education), is the current president of the Veterans Association at Texas Tech, and is also involved in student government as an engineering senator and a member of the diversity committee.
