The Lubbock Central Appraisal District (LCAD) said on Wednesday that the average market value of a single-family residence in Lubbock rose by $9,856 from last tax year to this year. That’s an increase of 7.17%.
For anyone wishing to protest the taxable value of their property, LCAD said informal hearings will begin on April 6 and end on May 4.

The Lubbock Central Appraisal District will begin mailing 2018 Notices of Appraised Value on April 5th, 2018. With another good year in our local real estate market, the average market value of a single family residence in Lubbock County is $147,275 in 2018 as compared to $137,419 in 2017.
Informal hearings on all Residential, Commercial and Agricultural properties will begin on April 6th and end on May 4th. Property owners are urged to contact the appraisal district and use the informal review process during this time if they have questions or concerns about any information on the appraisal notice.
If the questions or concerns cannot be resolved informally with the Lubbock Central Appraisal District staff, the property owner may have their case heard by the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) by filing a formal written protest (Notice of Protest) before the protest deadline. Notice of Protest forms can be obtained from the appraisal district office or at www.lubbockcad.org. The deadline to file a formal protest is on or before May 15th (or 30 days after the Notice of Appraised Value was mailed to the property owner, whichever is later). The protest deadline is included on the appraisal notice.
Property owners may file an online protest if the property is their residence homestead. Refer to the Notice of Appraised Value for your Online Protest ID.
