The following is a news release from the Beth Bridges Campaign:

Today, Beth Bridges filed as a candidate for the open At-Large position on the Lubbock ISD Board of
Trustees. Bridges brings to her candidacy a wealth of experience in the business world, volunteer
community leadership, along with her most important role, as a Lubbock ISD parent. “I believe it is
important to have the voice of parents on the Board of Trustees,” said Bridges.

Bridges is an active member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, recently completing a term as chair of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has served in a variety of leadership roles in the community, including president of the Junior League of Lubbock (JLL), where children’s issues were the major focus of Junior League efforts during Bridges’ term as president, as well as serving on the LISD 2020 committee.

Bridges is the Senior Property Manager at South Plains Mall. She said, “In my professional life as a
businesswoman, through my volunteer work at the Chamber and as a parent, I see the end game of
public education. We have an obligation to provide the children of our community with the educational
foundation and skills to build a promising future right here in Lubbock.

“As a parent at Hutchinson Middle School and a member of the PTA Board at the school, I have been
given the opportunity to personally experience the excellence that happens in Lubbock ISD classrooms
every day. Providing the broadest, most enriching experience for every student will be among my goals
as a school board member.”

In addition to proven leadership skills, Bridges brings passion for the development of our community. “I
believe that the education our students receive from the outstanding faculty and staff of Lubbock ISD is
the cornerstone of Lubbock’s future,” she said.

Beth and her husband, Jimmy Bridges, have one son, Avery, who is a student at Hutchinson Middle
School.
