One person was killed and another was injured after shots were fired in Brownfield, according to the Brownfield Police Department.
Brownfield Police said officers were called to a disturbance in an alley near North 3rd and West Ripley Street at 12:14 a.m.
Police Chief Tony Serbantez said an altercation broke out between two people from Seagraves and a Brownfield man. Witnesses in the area heard shots fired during the struggle.
When police arrived, they found two gunshot victims.
First responders found Evan Anderson, 19, of Seagraves and performed CPR, but Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. Jim Mojica, 19, of Brownfield was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Chief Serbantez said they are not sure how the altercation started but they are gathering evidence. The incident is still under investigation.
The Seagraves Police Department said, “Early this morning, Seagraves Officers assisted Brownfield Detectives in recovering a weapon believed to have been associated with an early morning shooting that left one local man dead and injured a second.”
