On Thursday, the grand opening of the Buckner Family Hope Center of Lubbock was celebrated with a public ribbon cutting and reception.

According to a press release from Buckner, the event signaled the start of programs and services for West Texas’ first Family Hope Center, which “is a community based place of hope where families go to find strength and empowerment to reach their God given potential.”

Angelina Rodriguez, the center’s director, said they are very blessed to open their doors to the Lubbock community.

“Buckner Family Hope Centers are our preventative approach to reducing the rate of family disintegration and number of children who end up in the system,” she said. “Families who come to the Buckner Family Hope Center will find the tools and support need to grow stronger and break the cycle of poverty through education and jobs.”

As stated in the release, nonprofit Buckner International operates 28 centers around Texas and in six different countries.
