LUBBOCK, Texas — On Friday, a fireworks malfunction occurred during the Fourth of July celebration at Buffalo Springs Lake around 10 p.m.
According to the general manager of the lake, the malfunction happened about three minutes into the show and all fireworks were stopped once a fire started.
He said one person has been taken from the scene by ambulance, but did not specify the extent of the injuries.
According to eyewitness accounts, everything just blew up. The eyewitness said there was a lot of smoke and some fire.
