A viewer said hundreds of people lined up for the Build-a-Bear Pay Your Age event Thursday morning at the South Plains Mall.
Our local viewer said the lines wrapped all the out around the women’s Dillard’s store. A couple of images were provided to show what it looked like.
The national buildabear.com website issued an alert on Thursday morning saying, “Alert: Lines have closed for Pay Your Age Day Event.”
Before noon, we were able to get local confirmation that new people were not being allowed in line.
The website also said, “Please be aware: Based on the unprecedented response to our Pay Your Age Day event in our early opening stores, we are experiencing significantly longer than expected lines and large crowds.”
It also said, “Local authorities are requiring us to limit the lines and crowds due to safety concerns. We understand this is disappointing, we are working to address the situation, and we will be reaching out to our valued Guests soon.”
