The following is a news release from Caprock Winery:

Caprock Winery and English Newsom Cellars is pleased to bring the first ever Cotton and Wine Celebration to Lubbock. This celebration held at Caprock Winery, will feature cotton field and gin tours, wine tasting and vineyard tours, a wine dinner, food trucks, ag equipment displays, live music and more. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The English and Newsom families not only have a history of producing quality wine grapes and awardwinning wines, they have also been part of the cotton farming industry in Texas for many generations. The families are proud to share their farming traditions at this first ever event that brings the two industries together – The Cotton and Wine Celebration – taking place at Caprock Winery, 408 E. Woodrow Road, Lubbock. Other partners for the event include BASF, NexGen, Hurst Equipment Company, Wylie Implement, West Texas Wine Tours and others.

On Saturday, October 6th the event has activities for the entire family, the fun begins at noon! There will be live music, vineyard and winery tours, food trucks, hop-on/hop-off cotton field tours, modern and antique equipment displays, and an old-fashioned grape stomp. The fun lasts until 6pm.

Tickets are available at the door: $10 per person, kids under 12 and wine club members are free. The event has activities for the entire family! We invite everyone to come out and help us celebrate the industry that put Lubbock on the map, all while supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation!
