LUBBOCK, Texas — Around 1 a.m. Thursday morning, Lubbock Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver failed to stop, leading police on a chase, according to LPD.
The chase ended at 2900th block of Parkway Drive and North Cherry with the car crashing into a house, according to LPD.
LPD said there were no injuries reported but the driver has not been found.
LPD released a statement on the incident:
On September 12, 2019 just before 1 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle for an expired registration at Marsha Sharp and Avenue R. The suspect vehicle fled from the officers and began driving at high speeds.
Due to the dangerous high speed of the suspect vehicle and in the interest of public safety, the pursuit was cancelled at 1:05 a.m. in the area of 1500 Parkway Drive. Officers then went in route to the area of 2900 East Colgate to attempt to locate the vehicle where the registration returned.
At 1:08 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle in the 2900 block of Parkway Drive. It had struck a residence prior to officers locating the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene before officers arrived. At this time the identity of the suspect(s) is unknown.
