Centennial Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Monty Long to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
As Chief Financial Officer, his responsibilities will include the management of financial reporting, budgeting, internal audit, corporate governance, accounts payable, capital planning and investments.
A familiar face at Centennial, Long began his career at the bank in 2001. During his 16-year tenure, he has held management positions across all functional areas of the bank, including retail and deposit operations, finance and accounting, information technology, and regulatory compliance. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer, where he was charged with managing the Bank’s investment portfolio and liquidity profile.
“Monty is truly an asset to Centennial. We are blessed to have someone with his skill set and work ethic as part of our team,” stated President and Chief Executive Officer Gregg Appel.
Long began his career in banking in 1995, and over the last 22 years, has amassed valuable industry experience in the areas of finance, customer service, technology and operations. This knowledge will be crucial to Centennial’s success as the bank continues its mission of providing strong community banking for its customers across West Texas and the Texas Hill Country.
Long holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from West Texas A&M University and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
