Central Lubbock Porch Fire Sends One to Hospital Early Tuesday Afternoon

Firefighters was dispatched to a reported structure fire early Tuesday afternoon in Central Lubbock.

The fire was reported around 12:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of 37th Street. 


According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, crews arrived on scene to find a back porch on fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished.

One occupant was transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. 

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene.

The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
