A water main break that occurred on Sunday in Central Lubbock has been repaired, according to a City of Lubbock spokesman.

The break occurred at the intersection of 54th Street and Elgin Avenue.

We’re told the 10-inch water main failed due to pipe fatigue.

A City of Lubbock utility crew worked throughout the night to repair the break.

The crew was working on street repairs Monday morning.

The City said their goal is to reopen the street later in the day.

They will follow up with asphault repairs later this week.
