Plainview ISD on Thursday morning announced that classes for Friday are canceled because of a flu and stomach bug outbreak. 

“Student health and wellness are a priority to Plainview ISD and we want to ensure our students and staff remain healthy,” PISD said.

“Our Maintenance and Custodial staff will be making a concerted effort to deep clean and disinfect our schools in order to provide a disinfected environment for our students,” PISD said.

Good morning everyone,

Plainview ISD will be cancelling school on Friday, February 8th due to the flu and stomach bug outbreak that we were experiencing. Student health and wellness are a priority to Plainview ISD and we want to ensure our students and staff remain healthy.

With classrooms cleared, our Maintenance and Custodial staff will be making a concerted effort to deep clean and disinfect our schools in order to provide a disinfected environment for our students.

We are very grateful to our Maintenance and Custodial staff for the extra effort they will be making this weekend on behalf of our students and staff. Please pass along thanks and encouragement to them as you have an opportunity.

All after school events except Athletic/UIL events will be cancelled and campuses/buildings will be cleared out by 4:30pm today.

EIC and ACT bootcamp will still be held at the Education Center today.
