The following is a news release from Lubbock Fire Rescue:
The Texas A&M Forestry Service, in conjunction with Lubbock Fire Rescue and Lubbock County Fire Departments, will conduct a controlled burn in the area of Reese Technology Center March 1st and 2nd.
This burn will serve as live fire training in addition to hazard mitigation and as is scheduled to begin the morning of March 1st and conclude on March 2nd.
Weather conditions will be monitored before and during the burn for any indication that would require operations to be canceled.
The Texas A&M Forestry Service expects smoke conditions in the area while the burn is occurring.
Once the burn has been completed, all on scene crews will confirm that all hot spots are extinguished before crews are released from the scene.
